Milwaukee Engineering 76, Wisconsin Lutheran 61

MILWAUKEE — Jeff Mikos (Lake Zurich, Ill. / Lake Zurich) scored a game-high 20 points on 7-for-8 shooting as Milwaukee School of Engineering won its fourth straight conference game, 76-61 over Wisconsin Lutheran College at the Kern Center on Monday night.

“Jeff set the tempo with his leadership and mental toughness,” MSOE coach Brian Miller said. “It feels good to beat Wisconsin Lutheran because they knocked us out of the conference tournament last year.”

Mikos also dished out five assists, recorded three steals, and went 5-for-6 from the charity stripe.

“We came out with fire tonight,” Mikos said. “Sometimes we get the lead in the first half and have a tendency to play with less emotion and intensity, but tonight we played well the whole game.”

MSOE senior guard Floyd Bayiha (Superior, Wis. / Cameroon) went 8-for-10 from the charity stripe and finished with 17 points. Bayiha also grabbed five rebounds in the contest.

The Raiders (4-0 in LMC, 10-4 overall) travel to Maranatha Baptist and Marian for its next two games and return home on Saturday, January 14 for a non-conference game with Northland Baptist. Tip off at the Kern Center is 3:15 p.m.
