Hendrix (8-3) took a 41-25 lead into the half on 7 of 11 shooting from behind the arc and never stepping foot to the free throw line. The Warriors pulled down 17 defensive rebounds in the opening frame to Ozark’s 12. Junior guard Matt Secrease scored all of his nine first half points by way of three three-pointers. Justin Jaramillo had five points and 5 assists in the half.
William Knapp produced for Hendrix in the second half scoring eight points with five boards. Jaramillo, secrease, and John Paul Noland all scored six in the half. The Warriors held a commanding 20 point lead throughout the second half with stiff defense having a plus-seven rebound ratio.
Four of the five starters tallied double digit points on the night with Secrease leading the way totaling 15 points. Knapp had 14 with eight rebounds and five blocks. Michael Bennett had a strong night scoring 12 points, three assists, and three steals.
Both the men and women restart SCAC play this weekend traveling to Millsaps College on Friday and Oglethorpe University on Sunday. The men enter the conference weekend 8-3, 2-0 and the women are 9-2, 1-1.
