Trinity (7-3) led 35-27 at the half, and didn't trail in the game until the 2:24 mark in the second half. The Tigers scored just five points over the final 11:10 of the game, converting just two field goals in the last 13 minutes.
The Tigers came out strong in the first half, hitting 55.6% from the field - including 4-9 three-pointers. Trinity hit less than 30% in the second half, though, including 0-15 threes in the final period.
Ross Burt led the team with 17 points, hitting 7-14 from the field (3-9 from distance). Andy Bates also scored in double figures, hitting 6-12 shots for 13 points, and recording a game-high six blocks and four assists. Both senior starters also led the team with six receivers each.
Jay Riola had nine points and two boards, while James Lake finished with six points and four rebounds.
Rob Stockwell led all players with 24 points for Bates, while Zak Ray added 18 points. Stockwell recorded a double-double with 13 rebounds to lead all players.
Trinity will conclude its part in the tournament tomorrow, before continuing conference play over the weekend.
