COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — Host Ursinus College raced out to a 52-30 halftime lead and held off a second-half rally by visiting Washington College en route to a 92-80 win in the Centennial Conference Men's Basketball Semifinals this afternoon in Collegeville, PA. The Shoremen finish their season with a 13-14 record, while the Bears will take a 20-6 mark into tomorrow's Centennial Conference Championship game against either Gettysburg or Johns Hopkins.CC Washington College Shoremen

Washington whittled the 22-point halftime deficit down to six points following a lay-up by senior guard Kyle Stem ith 5:42 remaining in the game that cut the lead to 75-69. That was as close as the Shoremen would get, however, as the Bears held on for the win.
Mike McGarvey led Ursinus with 28 points and six assists. He connected on six of his 12 three-point attempts in the game. Brian McEvily added 22 points and three steals, while Will Furey contributed 10 points and five assists. Matt Fabian collected 11 rebounds for Ursinus.
Stem scored his 1,000th point as a Shoreman in the loss. Stem's 999th and 1,000th points came on a short jumper with 8:36 remaining in the first half. Stem tallied 24 points in today's game to finish with 1,018 at Washington. He also dished out five assists. Stem, who reached 1,000 points in just three years at Washington, also scored 65 points as a freshman at Elizabethtown.
Junior forward Joey Breslin put up 24 points of his own and grabbed 11 boards for the Shoremen, while senior forward Jonathan Webb tallied 13 points and five assists.
Ursinus shot 51% from the floor in the game to Washington's 42%. The Bears were 27-of-40 at the free throw line, while the Shoremen were just 12-of-25. Ursinus
