The Blue Jays (18-7) will move into the conference championship game and will face home-standing Ursinus (20-6) on Sunday at 2 p.m. Ursinus moved into the title game with a 92-80 win over Washington College.
Nawrocki scored 16 and reached the 1,000-point plateau with his jumper at 7:51. Nawrocki is now the fourth player in Johns Hopkins men's basketball history to score 1,000 points and grab 600 rebounds. For the game, Nawrocki was seven-of-11 from the floor.
Other scorers for Hopkins included junior Chris Morley with 12, senior Jeff Thompson with 13, junior T.J. Valerio with 11 and junior Matt Griffin with 10.
Senior Erik Fromm punched up a career-high 28 points for the Bullets (16-10), connecting on 12-of-15 field goal attempts. Fromm had 18 points by halftime. Senior Mike Spadafora also reached double figures for Gettysburg, adding 16.
Both teams shot over 50 percent from the floor, as Hopkins hit on 58.3 percent (28-of-48) of its tries, while Gettysburg finished 53.2 percent (25-for-47).
The Blue Jays never trailed at any point in the game. Gettysburg was never closer than three in the second half, narrowing the gap to 36-33 with 17:21 remaining.
