The 10th-ranked Choctaws were led by junior guard Jaszmine Eugene who came off the bench to score 20 points in 18 minutes. Junior center Timothy Broomfield added 10 points and a game high 15 rebounds in just 18 minutes.
Sul Ross trailed MC 40-38 heading into halftime but shot just 31 percent in the second half as the Choctaws shot a blistering 60 percent.
The Choctaws also dominated the boards outrebounding the Lobos 50-21.
MC advances to the semifinals of the tournament where they will face the winner of the Ozarks/McMurry game. Game time tomorrow is 2:00 p.m.
