Hope advances to the championship game of the tournament for the first time in three years.
Albion (20-6) used a strong rebounding effort to gain a 32-28 halftime lead. The Britons out-rebound Hope over the first 20 minutes by a 24-12 margin. Albion scored the first basket of the second half, but a huge momentum shift, keyed by junior Stephen Cramer, sent the Dutchmen on a 17-0 run that turned a 35-28 deficit to a 45-35 Hope lead over a four minute period of time. Cramer during that stretch scored three consecutive baskets. Hope out-rebounded Albion 19-13 in the second half.
Hope set an MIAA tournament record for the fewest turnovers in a game committing only five over the 40 minute game and just one in the second half.
Cramer and senior Andy Phillips each scored 16 points while Greg Immink added 12 and Eric Voisin 10. Phillips grabbed eight rebounds.
