Endicott 67, Curry 49

Beverly, MA — Endicott senior forward Matt George (Dover, NH/Dover) poured in a game-high 30 points to guide No. 2 North seed Endicott College past No. 3 South Curry College, 67-49, in the first round of the Commonwealth Coast Conference Playoffs Tuesday night.

The two-time defending CCC champion Gulls (17-9) will host (No. 3) Wentworth (10-15) of the South Division Thursday night at 7:00 PM thanks to George's performance.

George was 7-of-17 from the field, 6-of-13 from beyond the arc and a perfect 10-of-10 from the charity stripe in 28 minutes played to earn his season-high 30 points. Junior guard Gary Corbett (Danbury, CT/Danbury) scored seven points off the bench and junior forward Mike Sullivan (Marshfield, MA/Marshfield) dropped in six points and pulled down seven rebounds.

The Colonels finished their season 13-13 despite getting 16 points from junior guard James Bartelle (Dorchester, MA/East Boston).

Junior guard Gary Corbett (Danbury, CT/Danbury) scored seven points off the bench for Endicott and junior forward Mike Sullivan (Marshfield, MA/Marshfield) dropped in six points and pulled down seven rebounds.

Endicott, which led 34-21 at intermission, shot 43 percent from the field and owned a 37-28 advantage on the boards. Curry forward Raheim Lamb (Roxbury, MA/Boston English) was the only other player in double digits for the visitors, scoring 10 points and adding two steals. He played with four fouls for most of the second half while Stephen Prescod (Milton, MA/Lexington Christian) added eight points in the loss.

Gordon will host Colby-Sawyer Thursday night in the other semifinal game.
