WAYNE, NJ — Junior guard Luci Custis (Roselle, NJ/Abraham Clark) scored a career-high 23 points, including 16 of her team's final 27 points, as No. 4-seeded William Paterson defeated No. 5 Kean, 75-63, in the first round of the New Jersey Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Tournament on Monday at the William Paterson Rec Center.

Custis scored 20 of her points after intermission as the Pioneers (16-10) won their sixth straight game and secured a semifinal matchup at No. 1-seeded Richard Stockton on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. in Pomona.
