Hope 66, Tri-State 54

HOLLAND, Mich. — History was written at Hope's new DeVos Fieldhouse on Saturday afternoon. The Flying Dutch became the first team to cut down the net as they clinched an undefeated league season and won their 21st consecutive game behind a 91-66 victory over Saint Mary's before more than 1,300 fans.
Coach Brian Morehouse Dutch became the first MIAA women's basketball team to go through a 16-game league season undefeated and will approach next week's conference tournament with a 24-1 record.

Bria Ebels, one of five seniors playing in their final regular season home game, set the tone for the Flying Dutch scoring 20 first half points behind six-for-six shooting, including five-for-five from three-point range.

Hope's senior class of Bria Ebels, Linda Ebels, Joanne Stewart, Jennie Intveld and Sarah Jurik compiled a spectacular 101-10 record.

Bria Ebels finished with 23 points behind a perfect night statistically -- 6-for-6 from the floor, 5-for-5 on threes and 6-for-6 on free throws. Linda Ebels added 17 points and grabbed a game-best eight rebounds.

Hope's next action will be Tuesday when the Flying Dutch host Tri-State in a first round game of the MIAA tournament. Hope has the home court advantage throughout the tournament.
