Ahead by 31 points at halftime, the Newbury Nighthawks maintained that edge in the second half to register a 76-43 victory over Daniel Webster College and end a 10-game losing streak. Arch Mitchell and Marcal Matthews led the Nighthawk scoring with 15 points each with Kevin Cleveland and Walky Magioire scoring 14 and 13 points respectively. The Nighthawks also dominated on the boards gaining a 54-31 advantage. The cold-shooting Eagles (22 percent in the first half) were led by freshman Adam Greeno who heated up in the second half to register a game high 23 points (2 in the first half) and sophomore Neal Foley who garnered 14 points and nine rebounds. Senior Chris Fox had four points. Prior to the start of the game Fox and fellow senior Derrick Peaster were honored by the Eagles and coach Chad Davis. Fox and Feaster received autographed basketballs and plaques and presented their parents with flowers. Congratulations to the graduating seniors for fine athletic careers! The Eagles close out the season Saturday at Emmanuel College.
