Indianola, Iowa — #23 Simpson (20-4, 14-1 IIAC) clinched its first outright Iowa Conference championship since 2000 with a 73-43 victory over Dubuque Feb. 15 in Indianola. The Storm overcame a slow start as Simpson trailed the Spartans 15-6 after the first seven minutes. The Storm outscored Dubuque 29-10 in the final 13 minutes of the first half, taking a 35-25 lead when Katelyn Whiton sank her first career three-pointer as time expired on the first half.

Simpson held Dubuque to just seven field goals (in 22 attempts, 22.6%) in the second half, forcing 14 of the 26 Spartans' turnovers in the final frame. The Storm used its height advantage inside, scoring 52 of its points in the paint. Whiton, a 5-10 forward, led all scorers with 16 points. She also had a team high eight rebounds. Sarah Pearson scored eight points and had eight rebounds for the Storm.

Dubuque was led by Taylor Foltz who battled foul trouble for most of the game to score 10 points.
