Simpson's Ryan Hittenmiller led all scorers with 18 points. The 6-3 forward also pulled down eigh rebounds. Jason Parkinson scored 12 while Scott Ellens had 11 points and seven rebounds. Chris Allen tied his season best for the third time with 10 points (6-for-8) from the free throw line.
Dubuque was without the services of All-Conference guard Nick Thomas who was out with a broken foot. The Spartans were led by Tyler Daugherty who scored 15 points as he played all 40 minutes. Luke Stotmeister and Norris Langford each scored 10 for Dubuque.
