It was evident from the first half that the Saints were going to have it there way. The Beavers remained scoreless until eight minutes in, but by then Maryville was already up by 21 points. As the first 20 minutes of the contest ended, Blackburn was 6-for-30 from the field and down 16-47.
The second half brought no relief for the Beavers as Maryville continued to bury their opponents. As the game ended, the Saints out rebounded Blackburn a whopping 79 to a mere 31.
Carrie Snyder ended her last regular season home game in style as she led with a game-high 19 points sinking 7-of-11 from the field. Snyder also pulled down nine rebounds and tallied an assist. Sarah Bartholic and Sara Wemlinger contribute to the win in double-figures adding 12 and 11 points respectively. Bartholic was also able to pull down seven boards while Wemlinger dished out three assists.
It was a big night for the Saints’ senior point guard Courtney Vickery as she grabbed a game-high, and personal career-best 10 rebounds in the contest and dishing out a team-high five assists. Fellow senior Fallon Rehmert ended the night with four points, four rebounds, and three steals while junior Laura Oetjen had a big night on the boards with eight rebounds.
Randi Roberts and Meghan Polston led Blackburn’s efforts with 14 and 12 points respectively. The duo also pulled down a combined eight rebounds and tallied four steals.
This Saturday the Saints will take to the road as they take on the Highlanders of MacMurray College. Tip-off time is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
