The nationally ranked Flying Dutch (23-1) will be seeking to become the first MIAA women's basketball team to go through a 16-game league schedule unbeaten on Saturday when they host Saint Mary's on Fan Appreciation Day at the new DeVos Fieldhouse.
The MIAA championship is Hope's sixth in the last seven years and the eighth in school history since 1990.
The victory was also the 100th for Hope's seniors who during their four-year career have compiled an amazing 100-10 record.
Defense keyed the Flying Dutch victory. Alma was kept off the scoreboard the first five minutes and by halftime had scored just four baskets as Hope gained a 27-13 advantage.
Sophomore Jordyn Boles led the Dutch with 19 points despite playing just 24 minutes because of fouls. Sarah Jurik came off the bench to hit four three-point baskets. Bria Ebels was credited with six assists while Julie Henderson and Stacy Warsen each grabbed six rebounds.
