Lasell 80, Elms 52

NEWTON, Mass. — Elms College sophomore guard Raemarie Josefiak (Springfield, MA) netted a team-high 13 points, but Lasell College jumped out to a 22-point halftime lead en route to an 80-52 win over the Blazers in Monday night’s North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women’s basketball makeup game at Newton, Massachusetts.

The original meeting between the two teams at Newton last month was stopped due to wet floor conditions with the Lasers leading 20-8 with 11:00 remaining in the first half.

Lasell, which won 84-48 at Elms College four days ago, improved its NAC West Division-leading mark of 13-9 overall, 12-3 NAC. Elms College lost its fourth straight game to fall to 8-13 overall, 7-8 NAC.

The Lasers, who had three players finish in double figures, built a 41-19 halftime lead en route to its third straight victory.

Elms College returns to conference play when it hosts Bay Path College on Tuesday, February 14. Game time is 7:00 p.m.
