Today's win, coupled with Southwestern's loss at Oglethorpe earlier this afternoon, gives Trinity (18-5, 10-2) sole possession of first place in the SCAC standings.
The Tigers trailed 35-41 at the half, but came back with a 61.3% second half shooting performance to pull off the victory. Both teams shot better than 50% for the game, and Trinity had nine three-pointers to help them to victory.
Brandon York finished with a game-high 22 points for the Tigers, hitting 7-14 shots and 6-9 from the foul line. York also had a team-best six assists in 30 minutes off the bench for Trinity.
Ross Burt and Mitch Walker both turned in 18-point performances, collecting four rebounds each. Walker hit 4-6 from distance, and finished 9-12 from long-range for the weekend. Burt hit 8-11 shots overall, including 1-2 three-pointers.
Andy Bates, who became Trinity's 21st member of the 1,000-point club on Friday night, chipped in with 13 points on 4-8 shooting. Bates also had six rebounds, three assists, and a pair of blocks.
James Lake finished with seven points and six boards, while Casey Hill had a career-best five assists off the bench for Trinity.
Rodney Rogan led five Millsaps players in double figures, tallying 20 points on 7-14 shooting. San Antonio native Tyler Warren had a rare points/assists double-double, finishing with 13 points and 10 assists in the game.
Next weekend, Trinity concludes the regular season with home games against Sewanee and Centre, before heading to Memphis for the season-ending SCAC Tournament at Rhodes College.
