The Blue Jays were practically unstoppable as they found it hard to miss a shot, hitting .582 from the field after two halves compared to Maryville’s .400. The Saints were also feeling the absence of big-man Stephen Bash as Westminster’s post player Robert Davis scored an unbelievable game-high 36 points, sinking 14-of-22 (.636) from the field.
To complicate things more, the Saints lost power forward Ryan Klein early in the second half due to a recurring shoulder injury. Klein was able to keep the Saints in the game during first half as recorded his only baskets, 11 points, in the first 20 minutes of the game.
Matt Regan ended the day with a team-high 12 points while pulling down four rebounds and tallying three assists and a block. Ben Hebl also put up double-digits finishing with 10 points, two assists, and a steal.
Maryville’s Casey Holland gave the Saints some quality minutes off the bench as he went on to record a team-high five rebounds and also dishing out a team-high four assists and grabbing two steals. Teammate Tim Elwell had eight points in the loss while giving out three assists and recording three steals.
Next Wednesday marks the Saints final regular season home game. At the game, we will bid farewell to the squad’s five seniors, as they dress for their last game at Moloney Arena. Game time is scheduled for 8 pm.
