Wesley 62, Misericordia 61

DOVER, De. — Mike Wright (FR, Dover, DE/Dover) scored with 3 seconds remaining on a floater in the lane to help Wesley to a 62-61 conference win over College Misericordia (5-19, 5-12), in men's basketball action on Saturday afternoon. Wright and Nick Minor (SR, Gambrills, MD/Arundel) both had 20 points for the Wolverines, with Minor adding 8 rebounds. Cody White (FR, Milton, DE/Sussex Tech) had a game-high 13 rebounds. Misericordia was led by the hot-hand of Tony Rezykowski (JR, Dimock, PA/Elk Lake), posting 25 points and going 4-of-5 from 3-point range. Corey Brown (SR, Bronx, NY/James Island) and Vinny Baumunk (FR, Dushore, PA/Sullivan County) had 11 and 10 points respectively.

With Wesley down 61-59, Tyrell Brown (JR, Randallstown, MD/Randallstown) was fouled with 9 seconds on the clock. After knocking down the first free-throw to bring Wesley within 1 (61-60), Brown's second attempt fell short. With both teams vying for the rebound, Minor came up with the board and kicked the ball out to Wright at the top of the key. Wright drove to the middle of the lane, scoring the basket and giving Wesley the win. The Wolverines now stand at 14-10 overall and 12-5 in conference play.

Wesley shot 20-of-55 (36.4%) from the field and held a 41-26 advantage in rebounds. The Wolverines shot 18-of-23 (78.3%) from the free-throw line to the Cougars 5-of-13 (38.5%) mark. Misericordia committed 24 turnovers, while Wesley had 23 turnovers in the game.
