The Pointers (15-8, 10-4) overcame an 18-point second half deficit and used a 22-9 run in the final 10 minutes of the contest as the Blue Devils (18-5, 11-4) could barely buy a bucket during that stretch.
The Pointers' Khalifa El-Amin played a key part in the turnaround, snagging a steal, a rebound and a 3-point bucket to cut the Stout lead to 66-64 with 1-minute, 35-seconds left.
Jackson also had a big part in the final minute scoring five points. Jackson tied the game at 66 all on a layup where he was fouled on, then dropped in the free throw to put the Pointers ahead, 67-66.
Stout's Greg Chaisson made a remarkable layup around the Pointer's Jerome Wotachek while driving the lane to put Stout ahead with 25 seconds left.
The Pointers chose to work the ball around and Jackson got free on the baseline with the game-winner.
Stevens Point's Steve Hicklin led all scorers with 16 points. Jackson finished with 11 points, nine in the second half. Jon Krull finished with 10 points.
Adam Chandler led Stout with 13 points. Ryan Stangl dropped in 12 points, Chaisson 11 and Terry Farmer and Jacob Nonemacher each had 10.
The loss slips Stout into second place, a half game behind UW-Whitewater.
