Westminster (Pa.) 100, Thomas More 92

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky — It was a game of simple mathematics as Thomas More fell to Westminster 100-92 Saturday at Connor Convocation Center.

While the Saints made more shots at a greater percentage than Westminster, the Titans made 19 three-pointers. In contrast, Thomas More connected on just three.

It was the final home game for senior R.K. Thurman (Portsmouth, OH/Portsmouth). He finished with 19 points and six rebounds.

Playing from behind for the majority of the game, the Saints made numerous runs at the Titans only to see WC connected a three-pointer to stem the tide.

After Westminster opened up its largest lead of the game at 17, the Saint made one final push.

Thomas More outscored the visitors 12-3 over the next three minutes to get the lead to back to nine points. But, the Titans were able to push its advantage back to 16 and held on for the win.

Junior E.J. Haynes (Cincinnati, OH/Walnut Hills) led four scorers in double figures with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Junior Ed Thornton (Cleveland, OH/Villa Angela-St. Joseph) added 14 points and three rebounds, while junior Garry Horton (Louisville/Pleasure Ridge Park) chipped in with 11 points, eight assists, and six rebounds.

The Saints (2-22, 2-9 PAC) will play their final regular season game of the season at Washington & Jefferson.
