Indianola, Iowa — Buena Vista (9-13, 7-6 IIAC) limited Simpson to 30.2% shooting (19-for-63) as the Beavers defeated the Storm (11-11, 7-6 IIAC) 70-53 Feb. 10 in Indianola. The Storm made only nine field goals (9-for-31) in the first half as BV took a 41-27 into recess. Simpson rallied in the second half, closing the lead to 48-42 when Ryan Hittenmiller made a three-pointer with just under 14 minutes remaining. The Beavers responded by making three consecutive three-point field goals to take lead back into double digits. The Storm would get no closer than 13 the rest of the way.

Brian Fogleman led the Beavers with 15 points and seven rebounds. Jeff Bissen scored 10 points and had six rebounds. Hittenmiller led all scorers with 21 points. Freshman David Ferezy grabbed a game high 11 rebounds, setting a new career high.
