Frostburg State 80, Medaille 78Buffalo, NY — The Medaille College men’s basketball team dropped a heartbreaking (80-78) overtime thriller to AMCC foe Frostburg State at the Sullivan Center. The loss drops Medaille to (4-18) overall and (3-12) in conference play. The Mavericks held a (3) point lead late in regulation but could not hang on for the victory. In the loss sophomore, James McNeil (Erie, PA – Northwest Collegiate Academy) scored a Medaille record (48) points on (19 of 43) shooting but it wasn’t enough to lead them to victory. On the other side of the ball Frostburg had a much more balanced attack which saw (4 of 5) starters scoring in double figures with Keith Hazel (Weirton, WV – Weir) leading the way with a team high (18) points. The win pushes the Bobcats to (11-12) overall and evens their conference mark at (8-8). The Mavericks will play their final home game of the season tomorrow at 4:00pm against AMCC opponent Pitt-Greensburg.
