Lasell 84, Elms 48

CHICOPEE, Mass. — Elms College sophomore guard Michelle Fernandes (Danbury, CT) dropped in 17 points, but Lasell College defeated the Blazers 84-48 in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women’s basketball game Thursday at the Maguire Center.

The Blazers lost their third straight NAC and overall game dropping their record to 8-12, 7-7 in the NAC. Lasell improved to 11-9 for the season, 10-3 in conference.

Senior forward Theresa Allen (South Boston, MA) led the way for Lasell College with 20 points and eight rebounds. The Lasers had three players score in double digits.

Elms College senior forward Danielle Dugre (Holyoke, MA) added 12 points and sophomore guard Raemarie Josefiak (Springfield, MA) contributed 10 points to round out the double-figure scoring for the Blazers.

The Lasers scored 44 points off of 28 Blazer turnovers and also had a 36-10 edge in the paint.

Elms College hopes to bounce back when it travels to Lasell on Monday, February 13 for a continuation of a game stopped on January 14 due to wet floor conditions. Lasell leads that game 20-8 with 11:00 remaining in the first half.
