Stout (18-4, 11-3) carried a 45-25 halftime lead, but the Yellowjackets (5-17, 0-13) cut the score to within nine points, 46-37, at 12:26 of the second half before the Blue Devils woke from their slumber and put Superior away. Stout ran up as much as a 28 point lead late in the game.
Superior's Leonard Cobb, who leads the league in scoring, tossed in 29 points, 18 in the first half.
Stout got four players in double digit scoring. Terry Farmer led the way for Stout with 17 points. Adam Chandler added 15 and Ryan Stangl and Brian Buck each chipped in 13 points.
The win keeps Stout in sole possession of first place in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC). The 18 wins is the most for Stout since the 1986-87 season and the 11 conference wins are the most since the 1974-75 season when the Blue Devils last tied for the conference title.
