Sophomore guard Tommy Young led the Cardinals with a career-high 26 points on 11-of-17 shooting. Junior guard Adam Wells shot 6-of-8 including 3-of-4 three pointers for 18 points, while senior center Tyler Ousley chipped in 17 points and grabbed 9 boards.
Sophomore forward Brian Schmidt and freshman guard Chad Szalay led the Berg with 14 points apiece.
Otterbein shot 63 percent in the first half and 57 percent for the game, while Heidelberg shot 49 percent. The Cardinals held the edge in rebounding 38-28 and knocked down 25-of-28 free throws, including 17 of their final 18 in the victory.
The Cardinals improve to 11-11, 7-8 in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC), while the Berg falls to 8-14, 4-11 in the OAC.
