HAVERFORD, Pa. — Host Haverford College outscored visiting Washington College, 15-7, over the last 5:35 of the game to come away with an 85-75 Centennial Conference men’s basketball victory this evening at Gooding Arena. Washington junior forward Joey Breslin set a new Gooding Arena record with a career-high 32 points and added seven rebounds and two blocks for the Shoremen in the loss.CC Washington College Shoremen

Haverford vs. Swarthmore Feb 21
The contest was close most of the way, as Washington held a slim 41-39 lead after the first half of play. The game was tied at 48-48 with 15:00 left in the second half before the Fords went on a 9-2 run over the next 3:23 to take a 57-50 advantage. The Shoremen closed the gap to 70-68 after senior guard Kyle Stem hit a three-point basket with 5:35 remaining. Haverford then went on its 15-7 spurt to end the game and seal the win.
Five players had double-digit scoring performances for the Fords, led by Johnny Elefterakis and Adam Howland, who each had 20 points. Jason Polykoff added 13 points and Ray Brown had 11. David Nowacki contributed 10 points and eight rebounds for Haverford in the victory.
Breslin 9-of-15 from the floor and 13-of-15 from the line en route to his 32 points. Stem and senior forward Jonathan Webb had double-doubles for the Shoremen. Webb scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while Stem added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Shoremen in the loss.
Haverford shot 47% from the floor for the game, while holding Washington to 37% shooting.
Washington drops to 10-12 overall and 8-7 in Centennial Conference play with the loss, while Haverford improves to 9-12 and 7-8 in conference play.
