Mary Hardin-Baylor 87, Concordia-Austin 73

BELTON, Tx.; — The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor men’s basketball team overcame a flurry of Concordia University three-pointers and a late Tornado run as the Crusaders posted an 87-73 over CUA Tuesday night in Belton. The UMHB men improve to 13-8 overall and 12-6 in American Southwest Conference play with the victory. The win also moves the Crusaders into a tie for third place in the ASC West with Hardin-Simmons University. The loss drops Concordia to 4-16 overall and 3-15 in the ASC.

Concordia used a quick six-point burst to close to within eight points, but the Tornados would not get any closer the rest of the way and the Crusaders iced the game from the free-throw line.

Joel McDonald led Concordia with 23 points and Valentino Maxwell chipped in with 22 points and 10 boards. Brandon Graves came off the bench to score 11 points for the Tornados.
