Huntingdon 69, Wesley (Miss.) 49

Montgomery, Alabama — The Huntingdon Hawks (14-7) opened up a tight game with a strong first-half finish and cruised to a decisive, 69 to 49 win over visiting Wesley College (15-14).

“You don’t want to have any slip-ups in non-conference play,” said Coach Tony Duckworth, “And we defended well, rebounded well, and were patient on offense to get the job done.”

Allen White led all scorers with 15 points for the Hawks. Justin Babian was 4 of 6 from beyond the arc for 12 points, and David Sampleton joined them in double figures for the first time with 10 points. Brandon Washington led Wesley College with 13.

Huntingdon hosts Great South Athletic Conference rival Fisk University this Saturday at 1:00 p.m., following a women’s contest that tips-off at 11:00 a.m.
