Arcadia jumped on top early grabbing an 11-2 lead and pushed that lead to 13 points (21-8) on a basket by Eugene Moore (SO, Trenton, NJ/Steinert), with 12:19 to play in the first half. With the score 33-20 in favor of Arcadia, Wesley was able to make a 15-2 run to end the half to pull within three (38-35) going into halftime. Brown hit a jumper from the corner to give Wesley its first lead of the game (40-38) with just under 19 minutes to play, as Wesley opened up the second half with a 10-2 run to put the Wolverines up 45-40. Arcadia would regain the lead, posting nine unanswered points (49-45) with 14:30 remaining in the ballgame. The Wolverines would regain the lead (67-65) with just over 5 minutes to play on a lay-up by Johnson, but Arcadia answered right back scoring two baskets and a free-throw to go up 70-67. Alphonzo Wright (FR, Dover, DE/Polytech) hit a 3-point basket for Wesley to tie the game at 70-70, with 3:20 remaining. Wesley would then lead 75-74, as M. Wright hit Johnson with a long pass with 41 seconds remaining. After an Arcadia missed 3-point attempt with 23 seconds left, A. Wright grabbed the defensive rebound. Wesley would then push the ball up-court, with the Wolverines putting up 3 shots in the paint area, instead of pulling the ball back with the 1-point advantage. Moore would secure the defensive rebound as Arcadia called a time-out with 9 seconds on the clock. Kevin Brown (SO, Trenton, NJ/Burlington Township) of Arcadia then dribbled the full-length of the court and was fouled in the backcourt, putting him at the line with 3 seconds left in a one-and-one situation. Brown would convert both free-throws to put Arcadia up 76-75 and essentially seal the win. Wesley had one last chance with a lay-up attempt from a full-court pass, that just rimmed out at the buzzer.
Wesley shot 29-of-58 (50%) from the field, but were out-rebounded by Arcadia 36-27. Sixteen of Arcadia's rebounds came from the offensive end, as Wesley gave up 19 second chance points. Wesley committed only 12 turnovers in the game, to Arcadia's 17. Arcadia was led by Dave Boettcher's (JR, Media, PA/Penncrest) 24 point and 13 rebound performance, while Eric Elliott (SO, Trenton, NJ/Steinert) added 20 points.
