Madison, N.J. — Rangers Roll Over Manhattanville, 77-50

Drew built a hefty 47-14 advantage in the first half on the way to a 77-50 win over Manhattanville in Baldwin Gym on Wednesday. Courtney Cunningham scored 16 points and Maggie Marquis and Kathleen Foster added 14 a piece as the Rangers improved to 11-10 on the season. Kim Reznicek led the Valiants (7-14) with 12 points.

The Rangers jumped out ahead early as they used a number of back door lay-ups to build a 12-7 edge after five minutes of play. Cunningham then scored seven of the games next 11 points as she drained an NBA range three and followed with a pair of lay-ups. The Ranger lead expanded as they finished the half with a 29-4 run during which Drew got 13 points from its bench as Ann Mularz, Kathleen Foster and Kaitlyn Campi all chipped in. Cunningham finished the half with 14 points and Melissa Kraft added nine with six rebounds, six assists and four steals. Manhattanville can take heart in their second half performance as they outscored Drew, 36-30, but the game was out of reach by then.

Kathleen Foster had a season high 14 points as she hit 4-5 three pointers. Ann Mularz grabbed a career high 13 rebounds while Genie Valantassis recorded 12 boards. Valantassis also registered five steals on the night. Every player on the Drew squad saw action as the Rangers prepared to get back into Freedom Conference action on Wednesday against Delaware Valley, currently in second place in the conference.
