Emory 93, New York University 77

ATLANTA, GA — The New York University men's basketball team had its four-game winning streak snapped when they lost 93-77 to Emory University in a University Athletic Association match-up played on Sunday, February 5, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Jason Boone tied a career-high with 26 points, and also added 10 rebounds for NYU (17-3, 6-3 UAA). Michael DeCorso also registered a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Jared Kildare finished with 13 points and seven assists.

NYU jumped out to an early 12-4 lead, thanks to six points by Boone. Emory (9-11, 2-7 UAA), however, fought back and eventually took the lead 23-20 with 8:17 to play in the first half. The Violets then used a 9-2 run to jump back on top 29-25, but the Eagles outscored NYU 17-8 the rest of the half, taking a 42-37 lead into the break.

The second half was all Emory. After trading baskets to start the second stanza, Emory went on a 13-4 run to open their lead to 70-57 with 8:36 to play. NYU would not get closer than 11 points the rest of the way.

Emory shot 61% from the field and 62% from behind the three-point arc in the second half, making eight three-pointers in the second session.

Spiros Ferderigos led a balanced Emory attack with 23 points. Four other Eagles also scored in double-figures.
