The Wasps hit 12-of-40 3-point shots in the first half and led the Eagles 49-43 at the break.
The teams battled on even terms for the first 15 minutes of the second half with Emory & Henry’s biggest lead coming at 58-51 early in the second half. The Eagles led by seven, 74-67, with 8:10 left in the game, but the Wasps rallied and regained the lead, 75-74, on a layup by Camillo Weinz with 7:07 left.
A 3-pointer by Andrew Hart tied the score at 81-81 before the Eagles took control. A free throw by Josh Fox gave the Eagles the lead and a 3-pointer by Michael Oblitey pushed the lead to four. Jay Strotman then converted a 3-point play for an 88-81 lead with 3:15 remaining, Two more layups by Strotman pushed the margin to 11 points, 92-81 with 2:34 left.
Strotman led the Eagles with a career-high 29 points on 12-of-15 shooting. Clay Michael added 22 points and 17 rebounds while Fox and Andrew Cathlin each scored 14. Oblitey finished with a double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing 13 boards. Michael also reached a personal milestone as he scored his 1,000th career point early in the first half.
Cain Landreth led the Wasps with 18 points followed by Weinz with 16, Shavar Bland with 15 and Robert Hudson with 14. The Wasps put up 75 3-point shots and made 24.
Bridgewater is now 9-12 overall and 6-9 in the ODAC. E&H drops to 11-11 overall and 7-8 in the ODAC.
