The first half featured poor shooting by both teams. Both the Eagles and the Falcons shot below 40-percent from the field and together combined to shoot 2-for-20 from three-point territory.
After scoring 53 combined points in the first half, both teams picked up their shooting and exploded for 103 second-half points. Edgewood shot 68.4 percent from the field and also made 24-of-29 attempts from the free-throw line.
Scoring in double figures for the Eagles was Cooper, Chris DeMarco, who added 17 points including 11-of-14 from the free-throw line, Charlie Averkamp, who added 13 points and nine rebounds, and Ryan Johnsen, who added 10 points of his own.
Matt Peets and Dave Lipanot combined for 48 of the Falcon’s 76 points and shot a combined 16-of-28 from the field. Lipanot hit three three-pointers in the final minute to get Concordia to within five points at the end of regulation.
The Eagles travel to Marian College on Tuesday, Feb. 7th to battle the Sabres in the Eagles second to last Lake Michigan Conference showdown.
