Baruch 72, John Jay 50

New York, N.Y. — Louie Karis (Brooklyn, N.Y./Xaverian) and Robi Davidson (Tel Aviv, Israel/Beverly Hills) each scored 17 points to lead the Baruch Bearcats to a 72-50 conference home win over John Jay on Saturday afternoon in the ARC Arena.

The victory keeps the Bearcats undefeated at home (8-0), the CUNYAC (11-0), and stretches their win streak to 10 games.

The Bearcats led at halftime by seven points (30-23), but broke open the game to start the second half with 20-8 run to go ahead, 50-31, with 9:46 left.

The lead twice grew to as high as 25-points the rest of the way, as the bench eventually saw plenty of action in the victory.

Cheick Fadika (Abidjan, Ivory Coast/Petit) had another solid game with 15 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks.

Hakeem Kased (Brooklyn, N.Y./F.D.R.) led the Bloodhounds with 13 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.

The Bearcats (20-3, 11-0 CUNYAC) shot 54 percent (27-50) in the win, while John Jay (4-19, 4-7, CUNYAC) struggled shooting only 28 percent (15-53).

The men’s team will return to action this upcoming Wednesday night with the Exciting Battle of Lexington Avenue against Hunter College. Tip off in the ARC Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
