The third-ranked Vikings, now 18-0 and 12-0 in the league, won despite a poor shooting night from beyond the arc. Lawrence hit only 3 of 19 shots from 3-point range. Lawrence's defense was a key, as the Vikings held Knox to only 1 of 13 shooting from beyond the arc and forced 17 turnovers.
Jason Maclin led Knox (10-8, 7-5) with 18 points and passed the 1,000-point plateau in the process.
Lawrence also got 12 points from Andy Hurley, who was making the first start of his career. The sophomore forward hit 5 of 8 shots from the floor and also grabbed eight rebounds. Ben Rosenblatt also chipped in with 12 points for the Vikings.
Lawrence struggled in the first half and was 0 of 12 on 3-pointers before the break. Braier scored 12 points in opening half and helped Lawrence forge a 28-24 lead at the break after being down by as many as five points.
The Vikings pulled away midway through the second half. Lawrence led 41-33 with 15:03 left in the game when the Vikings went on a 16-4 run.
Freshmen Chris Page and Doug Kadison both had four points in that run, which was capped by a pair of Hurley free throws at the 7:57 mark that gave the Vikings a 57-37 lead.
Lawrence went on to lead by as many as 27 points.
The Vikings are back in action on Saturday when they entertain Illinois College at 4:00 p.m.
