Hardin-Simmons 96, Schreiner 58

ABILENE, Texas — Hardin-Simmons’ women’s basketball team won its 10th straight game as it put up a season high 96 points in a 96-58 win over Schreiner, Thursday night at the Mabee Complex.

The Cowgirls scored the first seven points of the game and never trailed in the decisive win. All 14 healthy Cowgirls played nine or more minutes. HSU used a pressure defense to force 28 turnovers.

HSU also moved to 17-0 when it outrebounds its opponent. HSU is 17-2 on the year and 15-2 in ASC play. Schreiner fell to 5-15 overall and 5-12 in conference play.

Laci Walker led the Cowgirl charge with a career-best 16 points in 12 minutes of action. Sarah Hauk set her career-best with nine assists in 18 minutes of action and she did not commit a turnovers. Lyssa Dennard had 12 points and Melissa Henley added 10.

Vanessa Lopez led Schreiner with 14 points and Monica Enriquez scored 12 points.

HSU will return to action on Saturday when it hosts Texas Lutheran at 1 p.m.
