Marymount 74, St. Mary's (Md.) 63

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD — The St. Mary's College men's basketball team dropped a 74-63 Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) decision to Marymount University on Wednesday evening. With the win, the Saints improve to 9-10 overall and 3-6 in the conference while the Seahawks fall to 8-11 overall and 3-6 in league play with the loss.

The Seahawks fell behind early and were never able to fully recover through the remainder of the contest. Sophomore guard Tyson Lesesne gave St. Mary's their only lead of the contest at 2-0 to open the game.

Marymount responded with a 14-2 run to claim a lead that they would not relinquish the rest of the contest.

Senior guard Corey Diamond led the Saints with a game-high 22 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore guard Brandon Parker added 18 points with five rebounds while sophomore guard Marc Mazzuchi contributed with 11 points and a game-high six assists.

Lesesne posted 19 points to lead the Seahawks. Junior guard Valdez Preston scored 11 points while freshman center Calvin Wise continued his fine play with a double-double of ten points and game-high 11 rebounds.

St. Mary's will return to action on Saturday, February 4, when they host Catholic in yet another CAC contest. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.
