Wheaton (2-1) took the lead for good, 14-13, at the 6:54 mark of the first half. The Thunder opened up a 30-19 advantage at the break and led by double digits for most of the second stanza. Chicago (4-2) got as close as nine points, 57-48, with 2:16 remaining in the contest.
Clay Carmody paced the Maroons with 17 points, while Jason Hicks added 10 points to go along with a team-best seven rebounds.
The Maroons shot just 39% from the field and 19% from three-point range (4-for-21), while Wheaton connected on 44% of its field goal attempts, including 46% from three-point distance (6-of-13).
Tony Bollier and Johnnie Standard scored 16 and 15 points, respectively, for Wheaton.
