ONEONTA, N.Y. — Jaysen Murphy scored 18 points and retrieved nine rebounds to help the Oneonta State Red Dragons to a 59-82 victory over the Cazenovia College Wildcats on Mon., Nov. 28, at Oneonta. With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 1-2 on the young season and the Red Dragons move to 2-2.

The Wildcats got on the board first with a three-pointer from Stephen Harris (’09, Watervliet / Watervliet HS). However, Oneonta had an answer for the quick start and went on an 11-0 run to take a 14-5 lead early in the game.

Holding an 11-point lead at the half, Oneonta preserved the victory with high-percentage shots inside. The Red Dragons went 15-30 in the second half and shot 41% in the game.

Harris led Cazenovia with a team-high 12 points. Harris, who was 4-for-8 from the tree point arc, is now shooting 39% on the season from three-point land.

Steven Zavackis (’07, Carthage / Carthage HS) finished with 12 rebounds for the Wildcats.

The Cazenovia men’s team is back in action on Wed., Nov. 30, against the Oswego State Lakers. Game time is slated for 7:00 PM at Cazenovia College Athletics Center Cazenovia, N.Y.
