The Warriors were finally brought back down to earth when Otterbein College (Ohio) showed up to Grove Gym Monday night and came away with a 96-70 victory over previously unbeaten Hendrix College. Seven first half three-pointers with all five starters scoring in double figures for the Cardinals (2-1) proved to be enough to end the Warrior streak at three.
Ross Banaszak led the Cardinals with 25 points and 10 assists. Banaszak was 8-15 from the field and made three out of six three-pointers. Kevin King scored 23 and had six rebounds. Scott Cores scored 10 points, mostly from a perfect 3-3 behind the arch. Otterbein shot 56 percent from the field and 54 percent from three-point range.
For the Warriors, Matt Secrease led all scorers with 17 points. Freshman Andrew King finished the night with 16 and seven rebounds.
The Warriors (3-1) host the opening week of SCAC play this Friday and Sunday, entertaining Depauw and Rose-Hulman. Check out www.hendrixwarriors.com for live game time stats and up to date news.
