ETBU’s second win in a row evens the Tigers’ overall mark at 2-2 and 2-0 in the American Southwest Conference. TLU falls to 2-3 and 1-2 with the loss.
The Bulldogs, coming off a loss at LeTourneau on Saturday, charged hard at the Tigers Monday in the first half. TLU built a 19-7 lead 10 minutes into the game before ETBU began chipping away toward the half.
ETBU trailed by just one, 30-29, at halftime and took the lead for good after the game was tied at 42-42 with just under 11 minutes remaining. From there, ETBU built a 10-point lead, 57-47, with a 15-5 run over the next five minutes.
Senior guard Cedric Isom finished the night with a game-high 20 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. He was joined in double figures by his twin brother, Chris Isom, who finished with 16 points and 8 boards. The Isom twins kept the Tigers in the game offensively in the first half, combining to score ETBU’s first 18 points of the contest.
Junior transfer Brent Compton came up big in his first start of the season, posting 10 rebounds and 7 points.
TLU was led by Will Hudson’s 20 points, while Nate Walton scored 12 and Matt Nelson 11. Point guard Jason Morales finished with 9 assists and a team-high 10 rebounds.
