Eastern Mennonite 93, Lancaster Bible 67

HARRISONBURG, Va. — Eastern Mennonite University outscored Lancaster Bible College 53-34 in the second half to pull away for a 93-67 men’s basketball victory in the second day of the Don Glick Invitational at Bridgewater College on Sunday afternoon in Bridgewater, Va.

Sophomore Brad Parkes (Winchester, Va.) scored 20 points for the second straight game to earn All-Tournament honors for EMU (3-1). Junior forward Jason Sager (Edinburg, Va.) also earned All-Tournament honors with 16 points, eight rebounds, and four steals. Junior center Jason Lentz (Diana, W.Va.) added 17 points and five boards.

Sophomore guard Drew Karschner (Galeton, Pa.) led all scorers with 30 points for LBC (4-5) to also earn All-Tournament honors. Junior guard Tim Feliciano (Cape May, N.J.) had 15 points for the Chargers. Junior forward Ryan Carpenter (Treynor, Iowa) contributed 13 points and nine rebounds.

EMU shot 54.8% from the floor for the game, including 59.5% in the second period. The Royals went 9-for-16 at the free throw line (56.3%) and 4-for-12 at the three-point arch (33.3%). LBC shot 48.1% for the game, including 12-of-13 (92.3%) at the charity stripe) and 3-of-11 from long range.

Host Bridgewater (2-2) defeated Greensboro (2-3) 87-79 in the other game of the day. Clay Michael was named Tournament MVP while Josh Maupin also earned All-Tournament honors for BC. James Newman garnered All-Tournament accolades for the Pride.

EMU opens up Old Dominion Athletic Conference play on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. contest at Roanoke College in Salem, Va.
