Casey McCloskey (Erie/Prep) led four Gators in double figures with 18 points, while Ben Torsney (Morgantown, W.V.) added 14 in the loss.
The Gators came out firing to start the game, opening an 11-point, 25-14 lead just six minutes into the game. Juniata chipped away at the lead, closing to within one, but the Gators never trailed, and upped their advantage to nine with 3:42 left in the half, but a 10-2 run by the Eagles to end the half sent the Gators into the locker room with a lead, albeit a narrow one at 45-44.
The Gators kept their lead for the first six minutes of the second half before the Eagles opened a four-point lead and never trailed the rest of the way, increasing their lead to as many as 13, as the Gators fell 88-75.
McCloskey scored a team-high 18 points while Torsney added 14 and Ryan Hollihan (Saxonburg/Knoch) and Bill Babe (Pittsburgh/Mt. Lebanon) added 13 and 11 respectively. Hollihan pulled down a team-high nine rebounds while blocking four shots in the losing effort.
Travis Boyd scored a game-high 23 points while pulling down 10 rebounds, while Brian Cannon scored 18 for the second straight game. Jeff Byer and Brent Ferko each scored 10, as Tommy McConnell dished out a game-high six assists.
The next game for the Blue and Gold is on Wednesday, November 30 when the team plays host to the Saxons of Alfred University with tip-off set for 7:00 p.m. at the David V. Wise Center.
