Notes:
The Warhawks defeated visiting Lake Forest College 83-70 at Kachel Gymnasium. UW-Whitewater is now 3-1 overall on the season, and Lake Forest is also 3-1 overall.
Whitewater took the lead for good on an Amy Morris (Sr. Johnsburg, IL) lay-up with 5:27 remaining in the first half, putting the Warhawks up 23-21. UW-W went on a 13-6 run to close the first half, leading Lake Forest 39-26 at halftime. In the second half Lake Forest cut the Whitewater lead to five at 46-41 with 14:55 remaining. UW-W then went on a 31-13 run to take their largest lead of the day, 23 points.
UW-Whitewater was led by Jessica Wendt's (Jr. Greenfield/Whitnall) 17 points. Lindsey Buechner (So. Cross Plains/Middleton) chipped in 13 points. Amy Morris added 12 points and a game high seven rebounds and four assists. Lindsey Gerber (Fr. Bruce) came off the bench to add 10 points. Lake Forest was led by Andrea Durante's 17 points and Nicole Baich's 11 points.
Whitewater out rebounded Lake Forest 42-29, while Lake Forest shot 39% and Whitewater shot 40% from the field.
The Warhawks next game is at home on Wednesday, November 30th at 7:00 pm, when UW-W opens up Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action against UW-La Crosse.
