Furman built a 57-26 halftime lead on the strength of a 15-6 advantage in the game's first five minutes and a 14-0 run over a three minute span midway through the period.
Hopkins got no closer than 28 in the second half, narrowing the Furman lead to 59-31 at the 17:47 mark.
Of the five players who scored in double figures for Furman, red-shirt freshman Stanley Jones led the way with 17 points and six rebounds. Jones was 8-of-10 from the field. Junior Moussa Diagne scored 10 points and collected five rebounds, netting all of his points in the first half.
The Paladins shot 61.9 percent (25-38) from the floor to only 37.9 percent (22-58) for Hopkins.
For the Blue Jays, junior Danny Nawrocki led the way with 14 points and five rebounds. Junior Matt Griffin scored 10 and also picked up five rebounds.
Hopkins opens Centennial Conference play on Wednesday, Nov. 30, traveling to Swarthmore for an 8 p.m. contest.
