The victory is ETBU's first on the year and puts the Tigers at 1-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Schreiner falls to 0-2 and 0-1.
Both teams struggled through the first 10 minutes Saturday, with only 2 points scored through the first 5 minutes. ETBU picked up the pace a bit later in the half to take a 33-17 lead into the locker room, but the Mountaineers never got untracked, shooting just 18 percent (16 of 33) from the floor in the first half.
ETBU's Cedric Isom scored 10 points and had 9 rebounds in the first half on the way to a double-double -- 25 points and 12 rebounds. No other ETBU player posted double figures, with Chris Isom scoring 9 and both Melvin Allen and Rodney Calhoun finishing with 8 apiece.
Schreiner was led by 13 points from Jonathan Young and another 11 from Lance Hrncir.
The Tigers pounded Schreiner off the glass, posting a 69-46 advantage in rebounding. ETBU finished with a 39 percent shooting performance from the floor, while Schreiner ended at 28 percent.
