DePauw 111, D'Youville 66

GREENCASTLE, Ind. — Seven DePauw players scored in double figures as the Tigers improved to 1-2 on the season and advanced to the Mike Rokicki Community Versus Cancer Challenge title game with a 111-66 victory over visiting D'Youville College.

The Tigers face 2-2 Manchester in Sunday's 4 p.m. title game. Manchester defeated Maryville (Mo.) by a 67-62 count in tonight's first game. D'Youville and Maryville face each other in Sunday's 2 p.m. third-place game.

Alex Stewart paced the Tigers with 18 followed by Stephen Schott with 17. Matt McDonald and Michael Moore each posted collegiate highs with 14 as did Derek King with 12. Reid Sakel chipped in 12 and Todd Capes added 10 in the win. Nick Munding led the Spartans with 15, all in the second half, with Ross King adding 12 and Kyle Ward 11.

The Tigers used an early 14-1 run to push the lead to double digits and never trailed the rest of the way. DePauw shot just under 59 percent from the floor in the first half on the way to a 52-23 halftime advantage, while D'Youville connected on just 26 percent.

DePauw shot 54.4 percent for the game to D'Youville's 39.1 percent and the Tigers knocked down 13-of-32 three-pointers in the victory. The Tigers also held a 40-35 advantage on the boards as Schott hauled down eight. Brandon Goliszek grabbed six for the Spartans. Stewart and Moore each dished out four assists for the Tigers, while D'Youville's Ward had a game-high five. Stewart added four steals in the win.

The 111 points equaled the seventh-highest single-game DePauw total and the most since a 120-39 victory over Indiana-Northwest during the 1998-99 season.
