Senior forward Adam Mares added 11 points, six rebounds and three blocked shots, and was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player. Sophomore guard Nick Rogerson had 17 points, while senior forward Michael Nash had 13 points and six rebounds.
The Tigers were clinging to a 44-42 lead early in the second half when they went on a 21-10 run, keyed by three-point baskets by Brodman, Rogerson, and sophomore guard Joe Boylan and freshman guard Lincoln Deffenbaugh.
The Tigers hit 10 of 18 three-pointers, including five of seven in the second half. CC built a 65-52 lead with 7:52 remaining in the game, only to see Bethany College pull to within 77-73 after senior guard Mike Melcher made two of his three 3-point baskets.
Colorado College (2-2) closed out the game by making 13 of 16 free throws in the final five minutes.
The Swedes (5-4) were led by senior forward Trevor Voss, who had 25 points and eight rebounds. Melcher finished with 13 points, while senior forward Sam Jackson added 10. Senior guard Ben Zuker had seven points and six assists, and joined Voss as all-tournament selections.
In the third-place game, sophomore guard Gary Simkus had 17 points to lead Wabash College (2-1) to a 77-35 victory over the Philadelphia Biblical University. The Eagles (0-3) were led by freshman forward Austin McCardle with 11 points.
Colorado College will return to action on Tuesday, Nov. 29, when the Tigers travel to Lakewood, Colo., to face Division II Colorado Christian University.
