The Captains led at the half, 41-38 on 16-of-31 (52%) shooting from the floor but were just 3-of-12 (25%) on three's and 6-of-12 from the free throw line. The Knights kept the game close hitting seven first half three-pointers on 13 attempts. The Knights hit seven total three's against CNU last Friday and they also nailed seven treys last night against Maryland Bible.
Southern Virginia was 14-of-31 (45%) from the floor and 3-of-5 (60%) from the charity stripe.
CNU out scored the Knights 36-30 in the second half. Southern Virginia connected on just 1-of-14 (7%) three's in the second half and were 10-of-32 (31%) from the field and 9-of-11 (82%) from the free throw line. The Captains shot 54% (15-of-28) from the floor, hit 2-of-4 three-point attempts but were just 4-of-9 (44%) from the stripe.

For the game, the Knights were 24-of-63 (38%) from the floor, 8-of-27 (30%) on three's and 12-of-16 (75%) from the line. CNU finished 31-of-59 (53%) from the field, 5-of-16 (31%) on three's and 10-of-21 (48%) from the free throw line.
Southern Virginia was led by Aaron Louder with 16 points and nine rebounds. Brett Schroeder added 14 points and Tanner Johnson finished with 10 points.
Christopher Newport was led by senior guard Jeremy Romeo who had 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-9 from behind the arc. Davon Barton finished with his second straight double-double with 16 points and 10 assists. He also had six rebounds and five steals. Dont'a Selden contributed 13 points six rebounds, four assists and five steals. Edward Riley finished with nine points and Matt Coleman contributed nine points and seven rebounds in 14 minutes.
Maryland Bible defeated College of St. Joseph's, 71-65. Maryland Bible's Emil Curry set a new tournament record with 65 points in the two games. He broke the old record of 64 points. He scored 38 points tonight and had 27 Friday night.
Curry, CSJ's Rich Ortega, Southern Virginia's Louder joined Selden and Barton of CNU on the All-Tournament team. Romeo was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
CNU improves to 3-1 on the year. The Captains have a week off and return to action next Saturday, Dec. 3 as they host Curry (MA) at 4 pm.
